El-Rufai makes shocking revelations about kidnappers, Boko Haram

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, has claimed that kidnappers are now collaborating with “some elements of Boko Haram”, to hold people for ransom. El-Rufai stated this on Friday, while addressing State House correspondents. He was speaking 24 hours after gunmen abducted six schoolgirls and two staff members, from a boarding school in Kaduna. The Governor confirmed that the kidnappers had made contact with the parents of the victims, but refused to disclose the ransom they are demanding. “First, I must say it is most unfortunate and tragic. Following Tacha’s eviction from Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, her management has accused organisers of the show of allegedly holding her hostage. The situation is trending to Twitter and users are using #ReleaseTacha to call for her “freedom” from the organisers. In a trending video, one of her team members said soldiers and bouncers were called in to stop Tacha from leaving. Big Brother Naija housemate, Tacha, who was disqualified on Friday, has addressed reports that the organizers of the reality show held her hostage after her ouster from the house. NAIJAFLEX had reported that following her disqualification, a trending video, emerged that soldiers and bouncers were called in to stop Tacha from leaving the hotel she was lodged. Don Jazzy reveals why ‘weed’ should be legalized in Nigeria

Mavin Producer, Don Jazzy has called for the legalization of weed in Nigeria. Don Jazzy on his social media page, condemned the criminalization of ‘weed’ in the country. APC chieftain drags party, Lyon to Abuja court over Bayelsa guber primaries

A frontline aspirant in the concluded governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Preye Aganaba, has moved a suit he filed against the party and its candidate, Chief David Lyon, from the state to the Federal High Court, Abuja. A copy of the court proceeding made available to reporters in Abuja showed that the case was due for mentioning at the Federal High Court 4, Abuja, presided over by Justice I.E. Ekwo. Granting a motion ex parte filed by Aganaba, Ekwo ordered substituted service of all the processes in the suit on David Lyon and his running mate, Biobaekuma Degi. Buhari arrives South Africa for State visit

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday arrived Pretoria, South Africa, for a state visit and 9th meeting of the Bi-National Commission. Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, who confirmed this development in a statement in Abuja on Thursday morning, said the 9th meeting of the commission would for the first time witness participation of the two Heads of State after an elevation. The Bi-National Commission meeting was elevated to the level of Presidents’ participation, following the strategic position of the two economies in Africa and the need for stronger relations. Shehu disclosed that Buhari and his host, President Cyril Ramophosa, would co-chair the meeting on Thursday. Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has insisted he does not have any problem with team-mate Antoine Griezmann, despite the Frenchman claiming they were yet to connect. This visit comes months before they work together on the halftime show of Super Bowl 53 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. It isn't known why the rapper paid J-Lo and A-Rod a visit but it is suspected it may have been in his capacity as the producer of the Super Bowl 53 halftime show. Enugu Pastor kills his girlfriend for refusing to buy him a tricycle, steals her money to renovate his church

A Pastor identified as Chukwuemeka Ezeh has been arrested by the Enugu State Police command for killing his girlfriend, Miss Ogechukwu Ogbodo at her apartment located at Railway axis of Enugu metropolis. The General Overseer of Royal Prince Prophetic Ministry whose girlfriend is a recharge card sales agent until her death, began fighting with her after she refused to buy him a tricycle.  He was reportedly on a visit on July 15, 2019,  when he discovered that his girlfriend of five years came home with N2m which she intended to deposit in the bank the next day. Upon making the discovery, Pastor Ezeh killed his girlfriend, ransacked her house and took the money and title documents to her landed property. A disturbing video of Ghanaian secondary school students caressing each other while engaging in a seductive dance has hit the internet.  The Senior High School students danced seductively during the school’s entertainment session and were spotted at some point fondling each other's boobs as other students watched.  Though the Ghanaian Education authorities are yet to comment on the viral video, it has caused a stir on social media with a cross-section of Ghanaians criticizing the young girls and their teachers over their unruly behavior in school. Armed men kill Adamawa Fulani leader, guest

Armed men have gunned down Alhaji Abdu Bali, the Adamawa State leader of a pan-Fulani group, Tabital Pulaaku. The gunmen also killed one of the visitors with him at the time of attack. The other visitor sustained gunshot injuries from the attack which occurred at the Tabital Pulaaku leader’s residence in the state capital, Yola, on Tuesday night. A source close to the family said three gunmen stormed the residence in Lakare area of Yola town about 8:30 pm on Tuesday and opened gunfire on them, killing the Tabital Pulaaku leader, one of his two visitors and injuring the other. “Alhaji was inside the house with two people who were on a visit when three armed men came shooting sporadically and entering the house. They killed Alhaji and one of the visitors while the other visitor was left badly injured,” the source said.
